Summer 2021 Registration Now Open

We are excited to announce that the Warrior’s return to court is underway with registrations for Summer 2021 season now open.  We hope that it is third time lucky after a couple of false starts this year but after an incredibly difficult 2020, 2021 promises better times ahead.  It’s been almost 9 months since our boys and girls have played competitively so we are looking forward to supporting our players getting back out and active again with some new & innovative programs running along with the domestic competition.  

REGISTRATION

Registration is open now and will close on 31st December 2020. We are again using the PlayHQ platform to manage the registration process & payments. If you registered for the Winter 2020 season please ensure that you use the same account to register this time. NB: New U10 players that previously registered with the Playball Basketball Association in the spring season may already have a PlayHQ account, if so please use that to register with Warriors.

PLAYER REGISTRATION

The club registration fee for this season is $170.  This will cover all games plus finals.  There will be no additional team sheet fee for teams playing finals.  To get started with registration, click on below button;

Basketball Victoria Annual Licence Fee

Each junior player is charged a $25 annual fee directly to Basketball Victoria.  This fee covers player’s insurance for any basketball competition played in Victoria at any time in 12 months.  

If you have previously paid the fee and we have not been able to play, the 12 month period starts from the start of Summer 2021 season.  If you use the same PlayHQ account to register, you should not be charged the fee again.  

McKinnon Association Fee

MBA are charging a player registration fee of $48.  This is the Door Entry for Junior players for the season and will be a line item on PlayHQ which every Junior player will pay on registration. This is to avoid cash taking on game day and will allow players and spectators enter all games without the need to pay a game day door entry fee each week.  

Payment Method

PlayHQ will accept payment by credit/debit card payable at time of registration. If you are unable to pay with this payment method, or if you need assistance with payment, please email us.

COACHES AND TEAM MANAGERS

All coaches and team managers are required to register as such through PlayHQ so you can be allocated to your team.  There is no fee associated with this.  These roles are vital to making our club and teams a success, please consider putting your hand up to support our players in what is a great fun and fulfilling contribution to our community.  We aim to have a strong focus in supporting our coaches across all teams this season, driven by Warriors Head Coach Matt Tolnai.  Please contact the club for more information.  

INSTRUCTIONS

If you are new or did not register for Winter 2020, you will need to create a PlayHQ account by clicking below button.

  1. To begin with, you'll be required to create an account in your own name as parent/guardian or use the account you created previously. Don't create the account in the child's name. Please use an email address that you will have access to over the next 12 months as PlayHQ currently doesn't provide the ability to change/update email addresses of account holders.

  2. Register your Eldest child

  3. Second & subsequent children - Unfortunately, PlayHQ doesn't yet allow for registering all your children at the same time. So, the quickest way is to use the link again to register a 2nd child. In the "Choose User" section select "Register New Family Member or Dependent" and in the next section select "Player" and continue. When you get to the payment section your discount is automatically applied.

  4. Coach or Team Manager, you're required to register yourself as such. Use the link again and in the "Choose User" section select "I am registering myself" and in the next section select "Coach" or "Team Manager" and continue.

SUMMER 2021 SEASON DETAILS

This will be a shortened season running for 8 weeks in term one plus one weekend of finals where all teams will play.  All boys will play on Saturday and all girls will play on Sunday.  

Key dates are:

31st December 2020  Registrations close

26th January 2021                      Fixtures released

30th January 2021                      All boy’s competition commences

31st January 2021                      All girl’s competition commences

6th/7th March 2021                    Labour day weekend – no games

27th/28th March 2021               Finals weekend – all teams play

AGE GROUPS

Please ensure that you are registering in the correct age group

U10                  2012/2013/2014 (Must turn 7 before the start of the season)

U12                  2010 & 2011

U14                  2008 & 2009

U16                  2006 & 2007

U18                  2004 & 2005

We have not previously had teams at the U20 level.  If you would like to make a team, or need a team and were born in 2002 or 2003, please email registrations and we will do our best to facilitate teams in this group.  

SPECTATOR RESTRICTIONS

The restrictions and rules around COVID are changing at a rapid rate and we are ensuring we stay on top of them all.  As domestic isn’t starting until 30th January we don’t know what stage of the return to sport plan will be, so we need to adjust accordingly. I would imagine by February there will be 1 spectator per player allowed in venues, but this is to be confirmed closer to domestic recommencing.

PLAYER CLEARANCE AND TRANSFER

If a player is moving from another club or association then a MBA clearance form must be completed, signed by the club that he or she is leaving and forwarded to the MBA office for approval before 5pm Friday 8th January 2021.

Tryouts/ Grading

We intend to hold tryout/grading sessions to assist in team placement prior to the commencement of the season.  We are currently negotiating access to school facilities to enable us to do this.  With a bit of luck these will be held in December.  Further communication on this will follow as we have information to hand.  Of course, we will still support friendship groups remaining together where appropriate.  

Uniforms

Uniforms are not yet available to purchase online, but a sizing chart can be found at our store

Uniform cost is $90 for a full set or $55 for a singlet and $40 for shorts.  Please email your requirements to southeastwarriorsuniforms@outlook.com by 18th December 2020 to be able to have your uniform ready for the start of the summer season.  

There is other merch available for purchase online.  This is a great way to look great while supporting your club at the same time.
